The
Vatican - Here is a
collection of Papal addresses and news about the Pope, the Curia and major
events within the Church. They also provide access to the museum and
archives of the Vatican and information about the city-state. For research
they provide an online catalog of the Vatican library. You will know you are
a part of the world wide Body of Christ when you see the first Web page asks
you to choose between Dutch, English, Spanish, French, Italian and
Portuguese. As you explore the contents of the site you will find a number
of the resources are not yet translated into English. This is particularly
true of the archives and the editions in the library.

Seattle
Archdiocese
- This is the home page for our
Archdiocese. A wide variety of information is available on this site. Just a
few of the highlights are a collection of scheduled events in the area,
including Mass schedules for the parishes, biographies of Archbishop Alex J.
Brunett and Auxiliary Archbishop George L Thomas, and a link to The Catholic
Northwest Progress. Drop by this site and get a warm and wonderful
introduction to the programs, services and resources our Archdiocese offer.

Catholic
Information Network (CIN) - This
site is extremely large and yet easy to navigate. They offer a Daily Word
that you can subscribe to if you wish to receive it in email. There are
areas to explore RCIA, Liturgy, Prayers, Spirituality, Mary, Saints, Bible,
Eastern Church, Vocations, Universities and a very good collection of links
to other Web sites organized by topic. One of the greatest resources for
research they have a collection of documents they have gathered over nine
years. Each document is available for download or viewing online. These
include the Vatican II documents and the Papal Encyclicals.

Christian
Classics Ethereal Library - This is a Christian site without any particular affiliation with Roman Catholicism. Its vision is ãto build the CCEL into a theological library containing 1000 of the most important public-domain works for theological studyä. They are not quite up to 1000 but what they do offer is wonderful. Want to read Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton? Or St. Ignatius of Loyola's The Spiritual Exercises? They also have the Confessions of St. Augustine and the works of St. John of the Cross. The crowning achievement of this organization is the Early Church Fathers, a 38-volume collection of writings from the first 800 years of the Church.

EWTN
– Global Catholic Networ
k - Here is the center for the multi-media outreach of what many
know as the ‘Catholic station” on TV. Since in the Northwest our cable
services do not tend to carry EWTN this web site offers a good alternative. This
is a good site if you wish to send someone a free prayer card across the
Internet but there is so much more. In addition to a number
of articles, pictures and interviews in their many archives they also offer
radio and television broadcasts across the Internet. They use streaming
media technology that requires that you prepare your computer with a free
downloadable program. For example among just the audio programs are 50
episodes of the Life is Worth Living TV programs produced by Archbishop
Fulton J. Sheen, many episodes of Mother Angelica ‘s
Mother Angelica Live, and the series Devotion to Christ by Fr.
Benedict Groeschel. At last count there were 148 audio series to choose
from.
