Second Grade

Special catechesis around the subject of making choices, forgiveness, and reconciliation has always been a part our broader Eucharist Preparation Program. This includes a family workshop, parent sessions, parent/child evening sessions, in-class, and at-home sessions. For families that choose to, an opportunity for second graders to receive the sacrament of reconciliation for the first time will be offered before Christmas.

Third Through Sixth Grades

This program is designed for those children who did not receive their first reconciliation in second grade. And, some families whose child received their first reconciliation in second grade participate in this program as a review and growth experience. This program includes one parent enrichment evening and a four-week parent/child series. The weekly parent/child sessions are held at the church and are an hour and a half in length. This has proven to be a quality process that both parent and child enjoy and find meaningful. Some of the young people that participate in this series will receive their first reconciliation at a Saturday Communal Penance Service, held before Easter.
